Keramoti

KERAMOTI-GEOGRAPHICAL – HISTORICAL INFORMATIONS

Keramoti is a village in the municipality of nestos in the prefecture of kavala, about 30km to the east of kavala. Its touristic growth started in the 1970s thanks to its port and its unique, lovely beaches. It is an interesting destination since its beaches are accessible by car. Keramoti is situated on a small picturesque peninsula that stretches into the sea for about a kilometre making it especially attractive. It is surrounded by a dreamy 60m long and 9m wide beach, leading to the nestos river, which is one of the most important natural habitats in greece. The streets are wide, well preserved and everything is within walking distance. There is limited traffic and the streets are suitable for walks and bike rides. The picturesque coastal road, where the quickest ferry line to thassos (35 min) departs from, is full of small nice taverns, cafes and candy stores and at the same time local fishermen at the dock tempt food lovers to taste their fresh fish.

Keramoti a summer resort

Keramoti a small fishing village of wild beauty has been turned into a picturesque town and a unique summer resort which thanks to its lovely beaches offers the opportunity for unforgettable holodays. It has a number of hotels, boarding houses and rented rooms so as to make it easy for tourists to choose according to their philosophy and taste what is best for them. Far from the noise of a city in the tranquility of the sea, with a lovely view of the aegean sea and the picturesque island of thassos the visitor can relax and rejuvenate both physically and mentally. Based in keramoti there is a possibility to go on daily excursions to numerous archaeological sites of macedonia (amfipolis, philipoi, thasos island, the valley of nestos, xanthi, alexandroupolis and other unique destinations).
